Yes: Yes it can help symptomatically..  Some find that a heating pad helps..  Try both, which works best for you at this point ?

Probably: You should see your doctor asap or go to an emergency room, call 911 if needed for transportation.  There may be time to intervene and prevent additional damage to the heart.

Many causes........: There are many possible causes: heart (angina, heart attack, arrhythmia, heart valve issue, etc), lung (allergies, asthma, blood clot, etc), gastro (acid reflux, ulcer, etc), gallstones, pancreatitis, hormonal (thyroid, etc), muscular injury, pinched nerve, and mental (anxiety etc). 

Given the large number of possible causes, you should see your GP for evaluation.

chest not upper back: It is an inflammation of the joint where the rib joins with the cartilage which in turn attaches 2 ur sternum. This is usually located along the chest ; does not usually cause back pain in the upper back.

Difficult to say.: Back pain is one of those things that can be caused by almost anything.  Chest pain could be from angina, pulmonary embolism, aortic aneurysm, costochondritis, breast cancer, or just muscle pain.  Best to have a doctor take a look at you.

Usually at front of chest but not impossible to have posteriorly

No: Tight clothing should not in normal circumstances cause body pain. On the other hand, large, dense breasts whether natural or augmented(implants) can cause back pain. This is one of the most common reasons that women have their implants removed.

Concern for cardiac : Possibly an arrhythmia like afib. See your primary care md first. Cardiac cause needs to be excluded.
