Sty = pocket of infe: Unlikely to spread, but squeezing isn't recommended either.  Press a warm wet washcloth to the area for several minutes at a time to help bring it to a head and drain itself.  It might take a few days.  Try not to traumatize the skin around your eyes.

try to wash your eyes by dipping them in clean luke warm water 5-6 times a day in a cup filled to the brim.

If overweight,check for diabetes.drink lot of water.

the boil on my butt tested positive for mrsa i have a stye on my left eye forming.does that mean the mrsa has spread throughout?do i need to be extra cautious because of the mrsa?or are these not related at all.i have gotten septic from mrsa before?

: In view of your history with previous MRSA sepsis and its occurrence in the boil, probably MRSA is all over your skin and body openings and could well be responsible for the stye. Discuss ASAP with the doctor(s) who have treated this problem, ideally an infectious diseases specialist. Good luck.

Many questions here: Externally applied medication does not affect styes.  Generous application of heated cloths is the best remedy. A stye is an infected lid gland.  If the body's battle to get rid of the stye is only partially effect, it may surround the stye with a cyst wall termed a chalazion. Styes are not infectious and not related to contact lens wear.

Take dad to dr: The infection is spreading and his face is swelling. These symptoms suggest a more serious condition than a simple stye. Infections like Erysipelas or periorbital cellulitis Herpes involving the eye require in person  evaluation for the right treatment.

As with sties, the only noise that I usually hear are those of pain, but not from the "popping" of the sty itself.
