Possible infection: A stye is a localized infection caused by bacteria in the eyelid which causes a tender, red bump.  Most styes will rupture, drain and heal on their own. Warm compresses may help. You shouldn't pop a stye. Some styes spread skin infections when they pop in which case antibiotics are needed. I therefore suggest an exam at a medical clinic to check for a possible infection.

Heat pack: Heat pack, baby shampoo wash and omega 3 essential fatty acid by mouth may help.  If does not go away after 1-2 weeks please see your ophthalmologist.  You may need antibiotic combined with steroid treatment.  If it does not help then you may need a surgical cleaning of the stye or steroid injection

Warm soak it : A chalazion is another name for a sty. It is a collection of oil from a plugged minimum gland. Warm soak with a hit wash cloth three times a day to help draw out the oil inflammatory cells.
