Depends: Most ovarian cyst resolve in 6 to 8 weeks. But if not then we need to think of , cause of the cyst. It could be part something more, and then pain does not go away.  Such as it can be Endometriosis or it can increase in size or undergo torsion and then you will be in ER.

I do not understand: I do not understand what you mean from a cyst getting dissoved!. Yes the cyst can have cancer in it if it is big enough and is multilocular, with internal growth. A ct scan or ultrasound of the ovaries can help to make adistinction between benign versus maligmant ovarian cysts.

Ovarian cyst: They can, but the doctor must find out why you have a complex cyst and rule out any serious pathology. Depending on the cyst characteristic your doctor can do expectant management or can offer surgery. Depends on the ultrasound, your age, family hx, time with cyst etc.
