sudden sharp shooting pain just below my left shoulder blade and a little lower down my back. it hurts to breathe deeply or move certain ways. i have hashimotos disease and am hypothyroid. i haven't had a back injury. any insight into possibilities?

Costovertebral: It's possible that your strained your costovertebral joint/s (where your ribs meet your spine). Usually this resolves spontaneously, but can hurt with deep breathing and movement. If it doesn't improve in a few days, please see your PCP for evaluation.

have total paralysis after a car accident with back injury at l5-s1.are these always permanent?

ASIA scoring: It depends on your asia score. This will include whether or not you have rectal sensation or tone, which would define a complete verse incomplete lesion. If you have a true complete injury, then you may gain a single level, but otherwise the paralysis is normally permanent. If you have partial sparing below the injury, it may not be permanent. Most gains in first three months, then up to 1yr.

was diagnosed with hypothyroidism but refused treatment. i get checked regularly still and this time test came back normal? what could cause this?

Hypothyroidism: Hypothyroidism refers to an underactive thyroid which is confirmed by lab tests showing an elevated TSH. If TSH is just barely abnormal, treatment could be considered based upon symptoms http://goo.gl/L0oOTB. However, lab tests aren't 100% accurate - there's always some degree of uncertainty so if TSH is barely abnormal &amp; you feel perfectly normal w/o symptoms, it's ok to repeat &amp; recheck w/o meds

Probably, but: with hypothyroidism, uncontrolled, you can have weight gain too easily, not necessarily the cortisol alone, and you are on prednisone, better follow up with your 1ry MD / Endocrinologist.

Yes: Common cold which is a viral infection can cause hypothyroidism through causing thyroiditis. This usually resolves within 4 to 6 weeks after the resolution of the viral infection and is not permanent.

dx w/ hypothyroid & on synthroid. just got tpo test done and came back normal (no antibodies). what could be cause of my hypo then if not autoimmune?

Primary: The negative TPO means that the problem is not from a known autoimmune process, and the problem is more likely from a primary thyroid or pituitary failure

i have hypothyroid take .75mg levo daily. when i lay down or have my head far back or to my chest my throght is tight  and  is hard to swollow causes?

Not : Thyroid related. You should discuss this swallow problem with your doctor . Does it ever bother you after eating spicy foods? Do you ever get a foul taste in your mouth or burp up food? Just a thought.

15 yrs with hypothyroidism  taking 200mcg test 3 days ago came back 8.0 reduce to 125mcg reason of test  er with atrial fibrillation this the reason?

Thyroid replacement: I'm not sure i fully understand your question ( i understand you have space constraints). Starting full dose thyroid replacement can cause atrial fibrillation.  If starting replacement in the future, he should start at 25 mcg and raise the dose every several weeks by 25 mcgs until he reaches the full dose.

is there any condition that could cause both neutropenia and hypothyroidism? all orderedblood tests and bone marrow biopsy came back normal/negative.

Unrelated: Hypothyroidism is very common condition, so it is not uncommon to have other conditions that can coexist independent of each other. Neutropenia is often caused by bone marrow damage of some kind or other, although on rare occasions it can be congenital(since birth, cause unknown). The degree of neutropenia matters. So you should give us all the numbers of your CBC...such as WBC count &amp; Neutrrophil
