: The typical course of treatment for Trichomonas is one 500mg pill taken twice a day for 7 days. partial treatment may result in resistance or reinfection. Treatment is easily available from most in person and telemedicine Dr's with little or no wait time. Self treating with leftover or someone else's meds typically does not cure the infection effectively.

i took metronidazole pills (twice daily) for 4 days but i could not bare the symptoms so now i am on metrogel for 5 days. will i be cured of trichomoniasis?

Not reliable: Metrogel is not very effective against trichomonas. However, 4 days of oral treatment probably will be effective; the metrogel probably isn't necessary.

Trichamonas: Trichamonas can be treated with a onetime 2 gram dose of Flagyl.  You will need a test of cure in two weeks from that dose. If you have intercourse you will run the risk of being reinfected unless you use protection.  You partner will also need to be treated.

BV/Trich infection: Your partner may need to be treated. Also Probiotics are important. I usually recommend 35 Billion daily. Metronidazole, solosec, and clindamycin are the most frequent treatments. So reinfection can be the issue. Your doc ccan also send out a vaginosis panel for comfirmation.  As with anything, trichomomas is an STD so partner has it to. Boric acid suppositories are used but mostly yeast

Trich cure: Unfortunately the gel form will not.    Metronidazole tablets either 2 grams as a one time dose or 500 twice a day for 7 days is the standard recommended treatment.   The partner needs to be treated as well.

Trichomonas: It should clear up, with the antibiotic you are taking and as long as you don't have intercouse with your untreated sex partner.

He needs treatment.: Trichomoniasis is caused by the protozoa Trichomonas  vaginalis. Untreated trichomonal vaginitis is associated with a range of adverse reproductive health outcomes. Both symptomatic and asymptomatic carriers need to be treated. Both partners need to avoid intercourse until both partners have completed treatment. Retest within 3 months. It does not go away for men. He could reinfect you.

: Most of the time, symptoms clear up before the completion of the antibiotics. However, to be certain it is completely gone, it is best to be retested 2 to 3 weeks after to ensure the infection is gone.
