A hoax: There are no "vision" pills known to have any effect on the need for glasses.  This is marketing of an ineffective, but profitable product.

Poor vision: The cause for the poor vision would have to be ascertained by a medical (ophthalmologist) eye exam and the appropriate  treatment recommended, either glasses, contact lenses, or surgery.

Optician: You should see your local optician to address this. They have the most experience with fixing scratches on eyeglasses.

Yes: I would avoid such device. Not only are you increasing your risk of keratitis, which can lead to blindness, you are changing the anatomy of the eye by mechanical force, for a few hours.. Vision is too precious. I know zero eye physicians or eye surgeons who advocate this treatment. The only people who I have seen recommend this is non-physicians and non-surgeons. Consult an eye physician.

Yes mostly: If the optical and retinal elements of the eye are normal, then correction to 20/20 is the usual outcome with proper eyeglass correction.  20/40 is a level of vision two lines down from "normal" meaning a line of letters large enough that a person seeing 20/20 could read that line of print 40 feet away.  The prescription depends on whether you are myopic, hyperopic or astigmatic.

In most cases,: Yes.  But more importantly, has the cause be determined.  Double vision can be sign of significant, even lethal, disease.  See a physician if this a new problem.

Sort of: Reading glasses are prescribed for those who cannot focus at near usually due to age (presbyopia).  They can help you see better.  They cannot "correct" the vision in the sense that they do not alter the basic need for glasses.  But if you need them, they can be terrific to allow reading and other near work.

A little: As a cataract matures, frequently it gets thicker which makes the vision more nearsighted (myopic).  Glasses can help this but as the thickness increases, the transmission decreases and acuity gradually drops.  At some point, the lack of clarity dominates and the glasses cannot compensate with surgery being the only option.

Yes: There are special contact lenses that can reshape the cornea to treat low levels of nearsightedness. This is called orthokeratology. However, one must go through a series of lenses and continue to wear them to have a lasting effect, similar to wearing braces and then a retainer at night.
