Accepted Answer

Yes and no.: Many soups contain healthy ingredients, providing some fiber and vitamins. However most canned soups also contain a lot of sodium and processed foods and preservatives. Some also contain a lot of calories and/or fat above their limited nutritional value.  They also have limited protein and not all essential vitamins &amp; minerals needed. The best diet is a variety of food groups with fresh ingedients

Accepted Answer

Probably: I don't have a can in front of me, but if it is new england style clam chowder, one would expect dairy being present or it would not be a chowder.  More importantly, read the label and look for dairy, whey, and casein.

: Give it a try and if it does not make your symptoms worse, go for it. There is nothing in the soup per se to recommend it or not recommend it.

Safe but salty!: The soup is safe but the salt content is high!  This may not be a great idea particularly if your blood pressure has ever been a problem or if your ankles get swollem. Talk with your OB-GYN for guidance.

It had to be clear :  you need to ask your gastroenterologist to be certain. The ingredient containing tomato paste does not sound right

Power play: Kids at 5 are not at an age where reasoning works (tooth fairy, santa).Quit trying to reason with her. If you only offer healthy food & several tasty options, you have done your  job. If she skips a few meals she may be willing to try things others seem to enjoy. Bribery is fine for trying new. As long as you fix the same fries/soup for every meal she will demand you continue.

Not dangerous: Campbell de Morgan spots or cherry angiomas are common and benign.  They are more common after a hormone burst such as puperty or pregnancy but also increase with age, esp after 40.  They are benign, but if scratched, may bleed profusely.  Removal is considered cosmetic and at this point is done with electrocautery or laser, but drug treatment is under research and may be available in the future.

See Dr: Campral, aka acamprosate or n-acetyl homotaurine, is used to treat alcohol dependence. Side effects can include diarrhea, irregular heartbeats, blood pressure changes (up or down), headaches, impotence, insomnia. It is usually taken as a 333mg time-release tablet, three times a day. See a dr / addiction professional for more information.

Cherry hemangioma: A cherry hemangioma, aka campbell de morgan spot, is a common red spot on the skin, usually small.    They are typically harmless and increase in frequency as you become older.   They do not require treatment; however, if they become large or unsightly, they may be removed surgically or with laser.

i just finished a bottle of water (cambel back with straw type) and noticed black (mold?) in the straw. do i need to go to the hospital or can i take pepto?

Accepted Answer

No: Do you otherwise feel ok?  I would disinfect the camel bak bladder or buy a new one. Drink plenty of water and monitor your symptoms. You should be fine. This actually happens far more common than you would think. Make it a habit of cleaning your hydration systems. I only put plain water in mine, which helps to prevent this, but it still needs cleaning.
