I am concerned by the question about the diagnosis of anorexia.  I hope I am wrong.  If so please get help.  

Magnesium citrate has essentially no calories unless the carriers in the magnesium are sugar which is usually not the case.

Starving yourself makes you lose muscle and decrease your metabolic rate so in the end people often don't lose or rebournd..  Eat 1200 cal of fruits, veggies, whole grains and lean protein daily.  Each pound of weight is worth approx 3500 calories, so if you burn off 2200 cal and eat 1200/day, you will lose 2 lb/week.

About 3 days: It depends on how much the drop in calories is and how much exercise a person is doing. If a fasting person were drinking plenty of water during her fast, then it is less likely that the returned weight is water weight. Each person's situation is somewhat unique. One's body also wants to replenish its glycogen stores (fuel) that were being used during fasting.
