Many possibilities: Joint swelling is a sign of inflammation. If chronic , it can be related to a systemic cause such as autoimmune disorders (lupus), or age-related degenerative cause (osteoarthritis). If is is self-limited, a minor injury may be the cause. Calluses are caused by chronic pressure. 
"bumps" could be anything but may indicate  chronic joint disease.  See your physician for evaluation.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history and physical examination. If there is friction at the site of lesions, due to any cause, these may be callouses. If there is no friction, the lesions may be warts. If these do not resolve in 3-4 weeks, you may wish to see a doctor.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine

i had l4 metacarpal minimal displaced fracture. out of cast in 4 weeks, with callus formed. there is a large bump in palm, below my l4 finger but slightly above the fracture site bump on the back. i know back bumps were normal, are palm bumps normal?

: Assuming a "minimally displaced fracture" only was treated with external fixation and a stabilizing cast, the healing process can result in extra repair in the healing process distorting the normal anatomy, which can cause projections into the palm area as well as the "back" of the hand.

Calluses are generally not harmful cause complicated by ulcer or infection.

Neuropathy??: You may be having diabetic neuropathy in your hands, picking may do it but you may be chronically burning your finger tips and not knowing it.  Be sure to protect your hands if that is the case.  If just picking use a good unscented moisturizing cream to keep fingertips softer so you don't have anything to pick at
if you smoke stop that might be cutting off blood to your fingers.

Does Pen lean there?: If your pen leans there when you write that may be the reason for the callus there are various devices you can buy to put on your pen so you will not develop a callus. As funny as it sounds, i put a sponge roller that women use in their hair around my pen so I do not press so hard.
