i popped a calf muscle this morning. i suffered through work and my calf was very swollen when i got home. it was feeling cold while driving home. now, it's very cold. i have it elevated & used ice but it's cold without the ice. is this normal?

: We worry about the very serious compartment syndrome with this combination of signs &amp; symptoms. You should proceed to the hospital ER ASAP for prompt evaluation and care.

Many things: There are many reasons for you to have the above described symptoms!  It could be as simple as a muscle strain or cramp.  Sometimes, diabetes and or hormonal imbalances could present with fatigue and numbness.

Neuropathy: You have some form of neuropathy going on and a doctor can help pinpointing the source. I would also want to rule out a clot in your calf if their is any clinical suspicion of that since you do mention you have calf pain. Your symptoms are enough that you should have sought medical counsel already, so if you have not, please go see a doctor.

worked out my calves 2 days ago nd right calf is extremely sore, can barely walk. what should i do? hot or cold compresses? did i tear calf muscle?

No: Working out rigorously rarely causes damage or tear.  You are probably experiencing post exercise soreness (which makes it difficult to walk because the muscle is shortened and full of inflammatory chemicals from going beyond the aerobic capacity of the calf muscle).  Apply heat, massage the muscle, stretch it gently, and walk more slowly until the length comes back.  It will take 2 days to pass.

do i have dvt? calf muscle was randomly sore 3 days ago the soreness is gone but weird sensations linger. tight, full, cold foot, pulsing.

Possible: you may have one but there are other causes too.  See your doctor for an exam especially if foot cold.

All the time?: Is the sensation there all the time?  Does it shift sides at all?  Does it change from tingling to numb to burning or anything like that?  Tight clothes?  You may wish to consult a neurologist and what they think if it's just not going away.

No definite reason: Exact cause of muscle cramps is unknown, but the theories most commonly cited include:altered neuromuscular control, 
dehydration, electrolyte depletion, poor conditioning, muscle fatigue, new activity..Serious muscle spasm doesn't release on its own and requires manual stretching to help relax and lengthen the shortened muscle. Spasms and cramps can be mild or extremely painful.

Heel raises with...: Weight for strength and sprints for speed. Speed is hardest to achieve. Like my coaches all used to say "You can't teach speed". Make sure you stretch well before running

Calf muscle : Rest it. This is the best way for it to resolve itself.  A walking boot can take some strain off of it.
