No: Actually vitamin d is being used as a therapy for allergic skin rash and eczema. Sine vitamin d is a naturally occurring substance produced in your body, there is no allergy to it.

Vitamin D: There is no cause and effect relationship. It is very difficult for an individual in the west with a typical diet to be Vitamin D deficient. You need to be evaluated by an allergist.

can melanoma cause rash that looks like allergy? and can melanoma cause iron and vitamin d deficiency?

Accepted Answer

Not Likely: Melanoma would rarely ever cause an allergy type rash unless it was very severe and at a late stage.  It is usually found as an abnormal pigmented lesion on the body, in the mouth, or on the retina of the eye.  You should get a skin exam to have the rash looked at.  There are many other less scary causes for an allergy rash.  Melanoma would rarely cause vitamin deficiencies, unless late stage.

low vitamin d (15) on 10week 20,000iu x 3 weekly. could deficiency cause urticaria? blood test show grass and tree allergy , is this the cause?

Separate issues: Vitamin D deficiency is not a likely cause of urticaria. Allergy to pollen is a separate issue and needs different treatment.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

for any allergists/gastro drs....how common is carafate allergy? i am prone to allergic reactions from meds and i am nervous. how long after the carafate treatment can i start vitamin d? and does it interact with magnesium glycinate? thank you?

: Carafate allergy is very unusual.  Probably best to take it separately from other medications.

Thyroid nodule: Doesn't sound like mold. Check thyoid function and treat if required. Check nodule with ultrasound and may need biopsy. Check and treat low vit d if below 30. Optimal is 40. What is temp with night sweats. Are you having normal periods? What itches?

YES: An article came out very recently which showed a strong connection between Vitamin D deficiency and Alzheimer's type dementia.  As a result, I would strongly recommend that your Mom take 2,000/day of Vitamin D3 and discuss this with her primary doctor.

Low calcium: Oral Calcitriol is indicated for low calcium conditions due to kidney disease and other conditions. Topical Calcitriol ointment is indicated for Psoriasis, and autoimmune skin condition.
