Difficult: to answer without more information, such as the size of the lymph nodes and the type of calcification, but usually this is a sign of a prior inflammatory/infectious process that has resolved.  However, there are other potential causes, including(uncommonly) metastatic disease, so you need to talk to your doc about what the significance, if any, is in your case.

in my ct scan, there are diagnosis as:
1. pelvic nodes - calcified small left deep iliac chain lymph nodes. no adenopathy.
2. clustered lymph nodes within right lower quadrants.
what does those mean?
i don't have fever.

Need more info: All imaging results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your results do not portend any serious issues.

"Granuloma": The airways are a common portal of entry of organisms that can cause an inflammatory reaction we call granulomatous. As these age, they become more scar-like and occasionally will calcify. An infectious site from the lung can sometimes seed lymh nodes in the mediastinum and then calcify as well. While tumors sometimes also calcify the radiologic pattern is usually different. So good news 4u

Suspect infection: It may be old infections since there is calcification. You did not sya where you a re form but certain fungus infections are  in certain parts  of the country. The  insert  picture  can suggest  Arizona and we  think of coccidiomycos. It you lived in the Ohio -Mississippi river valley we woudl consider  histoplasmosis. What did your  physicians tell you?

i was sick 2 years ago so badly all lymph nodes in neck swelled, one is still swollen but not bad at all. is it calcified. doesn't hurt, can't see it?

Accepted Answer

Maybe: Sometimes lymph nodes react to infections and when the infection is over they stay enlarged.  If the node is not tender and stable probably nothing to worry about.  You would need some type of Xray to tell if it is calcified. Don't think that is worth he trouble.
