Stone passable: If stone is described as punctate it is likely only a millimeter or two in diameter which makes it a good bet to pass if it moves into the kidney tube (ureter).  If you are on Urocit K (potassium citrate) I assume that you have been diagnosed with a low citrate level and this medication supplements the level which can prevent certain calcium crystals from forming.  Key is to have stone monitored, with good hydration

Kidney abnormalities: "calcific densities" in the kidneys usually represent calcifications or stones, depending on any other associated findings they may have mentioned. Sometimes kidney tumorsay calcify, but they would have mentioned any finding concerning for this. Cysts are very common, and if they meet certain well defined criteria (bozniak classification), they are usually benign and need no further follow up.

It depends: A Lesion in the kidney can be a benign cyst, which are common. But it can also be a solid lesion. Depending on your Age, the nature of the lesion, and its size will dictate further testing. But you should have a consultation with a doctor to examine you and guide you further.

hi, i recently had a ct scan for pain in my hips, lower back and knees. on the report it says i have minimal calcific artherosclerotic involve of abdominal aorta and iliac arteries. i am 40 is this serious? should i see a specialist?

: No, those vascular changes are common findings on CT scan. You do not need to see a specialist for that. To delay the progression of atherosclerotic vascular disease you need to be active, eat healthy diet (low salt, low saturated fat diet), keep BMI less than 25 if possible, and avoid high blood pressure.

Flank pain: CT is more accurate than US in this case. It is possible that you could have passed the stone and later it was not discovered on imaging.  Hope you are not in pain now.

See your doctor.: Most of the time lower back pain is unrelated to the kidneys.  I recommend a visit to your primary care physician who can take a detailed history, examine you, and order necessary imaging and lab tests to discover the cause of your pain.  Hope you feel better.

See your doctor: A shadow is nonspecific and requires training to look at the entire image with knowledge of the clinical situation. The shadow could be a cyst or an area beneath a kidney stone or a false image due to bad technique. Sometimes normal parts of a kidney can look like a shadow depending on the kind of image used. Discuss the shadow with your doctor while looking at it.
