Impractical: If you are ready to drink strong coffee continuously through the day and run to pee every hour or two you can achieve some of the stimulant effect of ritalin (methylphenidate).Each person has a different effect to any level of intake.

Narcolepsy ?'s: Narcolepsy not affected by the medications mentioned, may require a psychological evaluation for less common causes.

These 2 things work for sure and it does not cost money: low calorie diet (low carb and saturated fat) and exercise.

Not really: Studies from the 1980s-1990s did not demonstrate robust benefit for adhd symptoms from caffeine usage.  The amounts of caffeine ingested were inconsistent, and symptom improvement was variable.

Maybe, if...: ... you're a lab rat being given huge doses. No evidence caffeine is "neurotoxic" in us. "Neurotoxicity" used as you are using it is like saying your car has "engine trouble": It's meaningless without a specific definition. Which nerves? We have a lot of different kinds. Timeline? Permanent or temporary? What is specific pathology? There are all kinds of qualifiers.

For what goals? This: is the far more important issue. Both promoted for symptoms; cure nothing, may promote other problems, especially if used frequently.  Additionally there are so many individual differences + no organized prospective placebo controlled or comparative trails of any sizable group on which to base an answer. Thus usual self-experimentation/buyer-beware. Rec: Google: "sources of caffeine in nature".

Don't use caffiene: Before sleep. Keep bedroom dark ; cool. Turn off tv. Don't exercise  in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs ; no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Keep dinner moderate sized ; finish at least 2 to 3 hrs before sleep. Can try warm milk, chamomile tea or melatonin along w light reading, warm bath or lavender scent.
