Possible ephelis: You may have small freckles (epheli) or moles (nevi) that are almost always benign. By the fact that you 'just' discovered them, A friendly visit to an EYE MD would be very reassuring to you. Good luck.

why do i have see dark spots in my eyes when standing up from sitting or lying down?sometimes when i am sitting and get up i see black dots in my eyes and it resolves in about 5-10 seconds.not sure if i get up too quick,do not remember this in past?

: Any eye condition which alters clarity of vitreous humor can cause dark spots. Any white or red cells present within the vitreous due to infection or non infectious uveitis, diabetic retinopathy, injury to eye or eye surgery will be common cause for floaters at your age. Spots on the outside: Spots on the outside of the eyes (where other people can see them), can be inflammation in the conjunctiva or in the eye lids. It can be the eyes reacting to bacteria or viruses (as in pink-eye), to pollen or rubbing (as in allergies), to some medications, to excessive crying, etc...  A pediatrician or other primary care doctor can check, and refer to an eye doctor if needed.

very scared. have eye appt this week. keep waking up and see tons of stationary blackish spots all over walls mirror etc. after blinking and rubbing eyes they go away in about 20 seconds. dont see at all ever during the day. just again each wake up?

Don't be scared: Seeing black spots is a common eye problem usually associated with aging and usually not indicative of anything serious. Your exam at the Eye Dr will let them look at the retina, lens and other components of the eye so that they can make sure there is not any other cause. Make sure you mention any injuries or head trauma, as well as any recent infections.

: They are almost like the benign moles on your skin, not uncommon at all. They had probably been there before but you did not see it.
You can observe them for now, only see an eye doctor if they change in shape or size.

See an eye doc: Floaters are usually just vitreous jelly liquifying and floating around inside your eye.  However, you need an exam to rule-out more serious causes like a tear in your retina or bleeding in the eye.  If the floaters are new, you should not delay in seeing someone.

Floaters: You are likely seeing floaters or thickening in the vitreous jelly inside the eye which move around after you move your help quickly with coughing.  If the floaters are new, you should see an eye doctor for an evaluation.
