i have had a small blue "mark" beneath the surface of the skin on my left shoulder for as long as i can remember. it does not itch. what could it be?

Blue Nevi: A blue nevus is a rather unusual but non-cancerous mole.
The blue nevus is a dark blue colour because the pigment cells (melanocytes) are deeper in the skin than in commoner brown moles and freckles. Characteristically, the view seen with dermoscopy is a uniform steel-blue pattern.
Blue nevi may be found anywhere on the body. They usually appears on the skin of older children and teenag.

on a recent mri of the shoulder it showed mild to moderate tendinosis and degenerative fraying of the bursal surface of the supraspinatus tendon. what does that mean?

: You have mild bursitis. Try acetaminophen for pain relief, no more than 4 gm in one day, no alcohol.

i  had costochrondritis last year. pain is better but if i lie down on flat surface its awful between shoulder blades and ribs.costochrondritis still?

i lay arm on flat surface and with 2 or 3 pds weight do wrist curls for 2 min. would this cause shoulder pain? pain when i lift whole arm crosswise

No: We use the cross arm test for diagnosis. This is a sign of an old injury that has partially torn the shoulder joint capsule. An MRI is diagnostic and the Rx is arthroscopic repair. Good luck!

i hv had a lump on my neck where it meets my right shoulder for over a two years. grew slowly now size of a malteser. no pain, not a lipoma & not on the surface. yesterday i was able to squeeze some white out. now a tad inflamed but full. what is it?

See Your Doctor: Tinea Corporis aka ringworm is a fungal skin infection contracted from humans. animals, inanimate objects (ex, sport equipment). Common in hot, humid climates. Causes round, scaly, red, itchy plaques usually head, neck, extremities, or skin areas in contact with infected source. Treatment with antifungal med is required. Treat affected pets also, cleanse contaminated surfaces. See your doctor now.

Tendinitis: In a 17 years old the pain in front of the shoulder isist likely yo bd tendinitis. It is treated with anti inflammatory meds and physical therapy. See your PCP of a physical therapist.
