i get bad heartburn a lot, have been put on a few courses of pantoprazole over the years and it works great, i also get some stomach discomfort and burping up food sometimes, do i have stomach cancer? too scared to get scoped! please help, scared?

Stomach discomfort ?: Persistent symptoms of acid reflux/discomfort should be evaluated by a GI specialist. Ask your primary care or gyn physician to provide a referral to a gastroenterologist.   Endoscopy is the best way to rule out serious GI problems.

Or cardiac: kindly see your doctor to rule out as well cardiac cause for your symptoms, although bit rare for your age and gender, however it needs to be ruled out, given the description, comes next is still GERD, take whatever is prescribed for this condition or use OTC antacid / PPI regularly though, and read the labels carefully, till you see your doctor, wish you well

Reflux: Reflux is one possibility. Improper digestion is another. Make an appointment to be seen. In the meantime, you find that digestive enzymes with meals  are helpful. You may find that homeopathic lycopodium is helpful as well. Acupuncture can be very helpful. (in chinese medicine they would say the energy is going up instead of down ).

Acid reflux: Your symptoms could be caused by acid reflux.    Certain foods, activities, medications and conditions that increase pressure in your abdomen can trigger reflux.  An over the counter acid reflux medication may help your symptoms, but see your doctor for evaluation if you are not relieved or if your symptoms change or worsen.

Have you tried over: the counter antacids? Sleeping upright? Seeing a doctor for evaluation? Reducing Coffee and Chocolate and alcohol intake?

When to get checked: Your docs have been able to tell you a few things that you do not have with your current tests. If your symptoms are persisting then get back in with your doc. Okay to ask for RUQ ultrasound to look for gallstones. You may also need an egd/scope to look in your stomach.

Hard to say: Need more history and need a physical exam.  Strongly suggest if symptoms persist you see a gastroenterologist in his office for evaluation.

?infection: Your symptoms, especially if they started fairly suddenly may be a sign of an infection. Anxiety can certainly cause gastrointestinal symptoms, but it should not cause mucous in the the stool.

after eating i have constantly been struggling with becoming physically ill, it starts with hiccups which leads to heart burn, and burping up stomach acid and food. this also leads me to have stomach pains and a head ache, i have lost my appetite.

? Gastritis : You can try OTC antacids / PPIs, read the labels carefully, if no improvement see your doctor for assessment and possible referral to a gastroenterologist, wish you well and good luck

Aerophagia: Aerophagia (air swallowing) is a common problem that leads to frequent eructation (burping).  The act of air swallowing is subconscious and people are usually unaware they are doing it.  Discuss this possibility with your primary care provider.
