A : A board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, in addition to an ent, would be a good choice since they can evaluate issues within the mouth and upper throat.  Burning mouth syndrome is usually due to issues within the oral cavity, but discomfort can extend down the throat.  You also have to rule out gastric reflux as a source of your problem.

TLC and antibiotic: A sore throat caused by viral infection — the most common cause usually lasts five to seven days and doesn't require medical treatment. Just some tlc.
If your sore throat is caused by a bacterial infection, your doctor will prescribe a course of antibiotics. Penicillin the most one prescribe.

See your doctor: You describe symptoms that can only be honestly assessed by your doctor in his or her office.  Only after a thorough evauation will he/she be able to come up with what's wrong and what to do to get you better.

Yes: This can be very troublesome. I had herpangina and this was the worst aspect of the illness (lasted for months), and many people have it much more severely. If no cause (hormones, meds, GI reflux, xerostomia / sjogren's) is found, a good multivitamin may help. Topical anesthetics and lozenge Clonazepam are used & sometimes it resolves by itself.

Many causes: Burning mouth can be caused by a number of things. I usually evaluate for vitamin deficiencies like B12 and folate (folic acid). I have seen it with patients who are hypothyroid as well. Sjogren's disease can cause it as well as acid reflux.

Burning mouth: Yes sometimes. Secondary yeast infections can come with such sprays and cause burning. Rinse your mouth out after using steroid sprays. If you have the problem now see your doctor to help you get rid of the oral candidiasis.

Depends on why you : take protonoix. It is not a standard treatment for BMS.  Acid reflux problem can be due to hiatal hernia however dose of medicine depends on severity and duration of acid reflux symptoms , please discuss it with the doc who knows your history and can give you more informed advice.
