Not likely: Enlarged lymph nodes, tender and non tender are indicative of disease nd should be checked by your doctor.

Throat chest pain: Greetings. Lot of possible causes are present. I would question muscular skeletal sources. Do you lift a lot?carry heavy back pack or purse? Lift weights?  Ibuprofen is a good start with food. Take the med for 10-14 days. This should provide relief and reduce inflammation. If shortness of breath, sweats or radiation to your back / neck occurs then see your doctor. May need additional testing. GL

Depends: An md consult would not be out of order at  your age. It is likely pharyngitis or bronchial spasms secondary to a moderate respiratory infection or even allergies. If irritated enough by coughing, a small amount of blood could look more foreboding mixed in with phlegm or saliva. By the way fever= higher temperature. Feel better!

was sick with sore throat, aches, fever, etc for 3-4 days. now day 5-6 i have pain in jugular notch and mid-upper chest when swallowing. hoarse voice and what seems like yellow post nasal drip. how to relieve the chest discomfort?

Treat symptoms: The flu like symptoms that you are describing may be due to a number of viral causes, including COVID 19. Stay home, rest, drink fluids and treat fever with Tylenol. Contact your PCP to arrange COVID 19 testing. Use nasal saline rinses and discuss treatment for bacterial sinusitis with your PCP or with Healthtap during a virtual visit.

No: Sounds like you have bronchitis. You can use any of the OTC decongestants like Mucinex (guaifenesin) but most likely you need to be evaluated by a doctor and may need antibiotics plus a prescription medicine for the discomfort.

Cough: In general, a symptom of coughing can first be addressed by over the counter measures. Cough specific syrups or tablets are readily available. Decongestant medicines can help if the cough is related to sinus drainage. Giving the cough ample time to clear is advisable but if you develop fevers, shortness of breath, chest pains, or bloody sputum, or a long cough, it may be time to see your doctor.
