More likely heartbrn: Off and on burning sensation just beneath the middle or to the left of the breast bone is more often heartburn than anything else. Nicotine or caffeine intake, acidic foods, reclining with a full stomach, all can aggravate that process. Lung cancer is unlikely to give you this pattern of symptoms if it give any warning symptoms at all.

where possible i try to run the least polluted route but for 0.6km of my route it is very polluted and i run fast. also i was in touching distance of a bin with burning cigarette for brief moment . could these two incidences give me lung cancer?

Quit smoking: It is not likely that you have lung cancer, but lung symptoms are a strong reason, if you needed one, to quit smoking. Smoking causes not only lung cancer but a number of other lung disease, heart disease, stroke and other cancers. See your doctor for nicotine replacement in case you need help in quitting smoking.

: The smoke may irritate the lining of your throat and upper airway, but no long term damage is likely. Keep a window open, ventilate the kitchen. Watch for signs of shortness of breath,cough and fever.

Depends : The prognosis of primary lung cancer is determined by the staging which depends on the type of lung cancer (small versus non-small cell). Lung cancer staging has become very specific and can sometimes be pretty complicated. To answer your question (strictly speaking) there are forms of "spread to chest" that can be cured...But to be more accurate your oncologist/surgeon should answer that for you.

HERE IT IS: 1st: nothing such as thoracic or chest cancer. Both are anatomical descriptions of the area above the diaphgram. There are many cancers that can occur in this area ei: esophageal, lung, lymphoma and thymoma to name a few. So the only correlation is that lung cancer occurs and is found in the thoracic/chest area.

i will ldct scan chest check lung cancer. is there any benefit to having this scan done on a 256 slice vs a 64 slice? i want lowest radiation dose.

Improved view.: 256 scanners are amazing.  Much better lung definition.  I'm not sure about the radiation dose difference.

Quit Now: Very few things you do in your whole life will benefit you more than quitting smoking. This includes cigarettes, cigars, joints snuff, chewing tobacco and vaping. You will enjoy better health and over time will be able to buy several new cars with the money you save. You haven't smoked long enough yet to seriously worry about lung cancer, but if you don't quit you'll be there soon enough.
