Herpes very unlikely: Urinary frequency or urgency are rarely due to any STD, and certainly herpes would not do this. Absence of sores and/or severely painful urination is good evidence against herpes. The main other STD symptom is urethral discharge. If any doubt about any of this, best to see a doctor for reassuring exam and testing.

Many causes: Your pain could represent many things.  Your vas deferens transports sperm from your testicles via your groin.  You may have a hernia if there is a bulge present.  Prostatitis is usually accompanied by fever, pelvic/rectal pain or pain when you urinate.  A burning sensation on your thigh is usually a result of a nerve problem.  I would recommend a physical exam to assess your problem.

Unlikely Hip: Typical hip pain that stems from arthritis is usually not described as "burning".  However, nerve pain, (called neuropathy) is commonly described by patients as burning, tingling, electrical.  The location of your pain in the groin is similar to where hip joint pain would be felt, but your description of the pain gives me the sense that this is a nerve.  Arthritis also has stiffness involved.

Nerve injury?: This certainly sounds like a nerve type of pain. With normal MRIs as you stated , it still could be a problem called “meralgia paresthetica “ involving compression of a surface nerve, more common in overweight people or when wearing tight clothes. Seek Tx: You might start w/ your PCP for a good full exam to reassure you. But I expect you know that psychotherapy is the probable tx to help you deal w/ your fears and loss. This is not unusual as a response to a family death. If there is any family trend for nhl, it is weak and not direct - but have an exam - you'll feel more at ease. Sorry for your loss and the pain. Fell better ASAP.

Nerve, tendon, joint: There are many causes of groin pain. Adductor tendonitis and hamstring tendonitis are common causes in runners. If the pain is towards the buttocks, then think hamstring, esp. where it attaches on the ischial tuberosity. Burning is often associated with nerve pain and several nerves are in that area. Finally, hip join pain often refers to the groin but I would expect this to hurt while running.

: In order for a herniated intervertebral disc to cause groin discomfort it would have to impinge upon nerve roots whose branches run to the groin. This would usually cause groin pain on one side however. I'm unsure whether a central disc protrusion pressing on the spinal cord itself could cause bilateral groin discomfort. A neurologist would know the answer though.

burning lower abdomi: Pain requires medical evaluation and not just pain medicine.  She can be bladder or bowel or even ovarian pain or even something more serious.  It is hurting for 2 days and has become more severe it needs attention right away.
