No: Spinal cord injuries, carpal tunnel, nor bulging discs are the direct result of a massage unless you were in a terrible accident on the way. Though some of these symptoms might be aggravated by positioning or deep massage, none should be affected negatively without undue trauma.

Accepted Answer

Depends on symptoms: You are describing a radiographic finding. Many times, people have disc bulges and no symptoms, in which case nothing needs to be done. If you are having neck pain or arm pain or numbness/weakness of the arms, then treatment with therapy to reduce the disc bulge and relieve pressure on the nerve roots or medication for the symptoms may be indicated.

is it rare for a cervical disc bulge/herniation to press on the spinal cord in a 21 year old without stenosis? had mri 2 years ago that only showed mild bulges. how likely is it to progress to spinal cord damage?

See Orthopedic...: First question is Did one have a history of  injury in sports or accident. Next did one have Physical Therapy/ Braces/ Exercise to manage the bulge/ herniation after the MRI. Lastly one should  go back to the physician/ care Giver who did the MRI for Clinical Followup. Age 21 years is rather too young to settle for chronic skeletal dysfunction that is fairly easy to manage. See Orthopedic Consult

: Often best to avoid surgery for thoracic disc rupture but if spinal cord compression is the issue, may well need an aggressive approach.  Get two surgical opinions but also see a physiatrist.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Your spinal cord has a map of your whole body.  If there is pressure on the cord there be sensory or motor changes anywhere below the level of the pressure.
Its worth seeing a neurologist or physiatrist to see if the history and physical examination correspond to the imaging findings.

Accepted Answer

: Your description of the MRI depicts a minor disc abnormality which does not compress the spinal cord or emerging nerve roots, and indeed would be quite unlikely to cause any profound symptoms or signs.  Certainly, not a need for surgery or injections based upon your report.

i have disc hernation at t7-t8 with flattening of the left ventricle spinal cord, disc protrusions and spondylolisthesis from l4-s1 resulting in bi lateral stenosis but more on left side. having some tingling on left leg mainly when i get hot. why?

Discs: You need to see a neurosurgeon as you may require spinal  surgery to prevent further deterioration which may result in further nerve damage

Depends:  : Can be very problematic with leg and back pain requiring treatment.  It is almost normal for all human beings to have some l5/s1 and l4/l5 facet arthritis and disc disease.  Rarely requires treatment more than core exercises, nsaids, back rehab and other conservative/ fitness training.

Bulging disc: You may or may not have symptoms - the symptoms could be pain, tingling or weakness.

have pins/needles on right hand for 2 months. mri: c5-6 degenerative changes with spinal cord flattening & effacement of csf signal.multilevel chronic foraminal stenosis worst at c5-6, compression of right c6 nerve root.how dangerous? irreversible?

Get EMG: It would seem that you have a cord compression, but you need an EMG/NCS (muscle and nerve study) to determine how serious the cord compression is vs a different cause,,such as carpal tunnel, which could also exist. steroid epidural cervical injections should Improve symptoms for some time. Please wear a soft cervical  collar while driving to prevent injury should you have an accident.
