Fexofenadine: Tough to say which is safest and if any can contribute to sezures in your daughter, but fexofenadine (allegra) does not cross the blood brain barrier. That is the reason it does not cause drowsiness. And because it does not cross the blood brain barrier, it likely has limited ability to contribute to your daughters seizures.

i currently use rhinocort aqua for nasal allergies, it is so expensive, and nasonex (mometasone) doesn't work for me. any other options?

Generic flonase: Nasal steroids are a great first choice for medication treatment of allergies.  Your insurance will likely want you on a generic if possible.  There is a generic option for Flonase and this to some degree for a number of patients.

i have successfully taken rhinocort aqua for years and was give budesidine by walgreens as a generic instead. is it exactly the same?  could there be differences in side effects?

Generic drugs: Generic medications by FDA standards have to meet the same dosage of active ingredient as the Brand Name drug.  There should no side effect differences between the two medications (as they are usually caused by the active ingredient)  Good Luck

Not much: Rhinocort contains a steroid but topical use should not materially raise your blood sugar. Do let your doctor know if you start using it.

are there rhinocort side effects?

Accepted Answer

Yes: There are side effects to every medication. That does not mean you will experience any of them. Common side effects of rhinocort include nose bleeds, sore throat and nasal irritation. More serious are perforation of the nasal septum, increased intraocular pressure and oral thrush. 
Review the technique for  proper application of this nasal spray and use as directed to minimize nasal side effects.

should i stop using flonase if it makes my nose bleed? would rhinocort be a better option?

Maybe: Flonase does contain alcohol which can irritate some peoples noses.  Rhinocort can also cause nasal bleeding but it does not contain the alcohol which is in Flonase.  It might be best to stop both for a few days.

Steroids: Unfortunately there is no good long term oral mediation that works like rhinocort. It is very dangerous to take oral steroids, especially for a prolonged period of time.

i've chr. pansinusitis dr told me to use 'rhinocort aqua 64 mcg' 12 sprays '768mcg per day' this is 3 times higher than recommended dose is that safe?

: Backache has been reported as a side effect of Rhinocort but not common.
