Several: such as leukotriene modifier and Xolair. Occasionally theophylline may be helpful and alternate-day prednisone may need to be added. Anti-cholinergic has had a revival recently for bronchodilation. There are newer biologic products in the pipeline which may help.

No time at all!: The idea behind inhaled corticosteroids, even those combined w/long-acting beta agonists, such as Advair, Breo &amp; Symbicort, (budesonide and formoterol) is that systemic absorption should be minimal, as long as one doesn't exceed the maximum dose, though enough to lower bone mineral density. Itnis indicated for the maintenance & control of asthma, not for acute use.

See below: Symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) is a treatment of lung disease and some cardiomyopathies are due to lung problems, especially sleep apnea.  Symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) may alleviate pulmonary symptoms and consequently alleviate the lung burden to the heart (in cardiomyopathies due to lung problems).  But it usually requires also treatment such as weight loss and CPAP - positive pressure.
