i found that my lower back was sore today while standing then found unexplained bruising along my spine.

Medical check up nee: You need to have a medical check up from your doctor. Bruising can be from trauma/injury but you will know if that is in the picture or not. Unexplained bruising indicates possible bleeding under the skin for which there has to be a cause. Your doctor can check/examine you to find the cause of bleeding which will require blood tests including CBC(Complete blood counts) and some special  blood test

You don't guess: your friend should see his ( or her )  oncologist  , doctor will not tell you the cause  with out patient permission

Need more info: It is impossible to tell you for sure without being able to visualize the skin lesions. Have a dermatologist take a look.

Spine bruise: If you are referring to a discoloration of the skin, this might be due to a superficial hemangioma. If it feels like a bruise, it might have a deeper origin. Superficial hemangiomas can be successfully treated with laser or superficial tattoo treatments.... Good luck!

Unrelated to tap: spinal tap 1 year ago can cause a bruise now. If bruise was not caused by a known injury then it may be an underlying blood disease that needs to be investigated by a hematologist. some times steroids or Aspirin or anti platelet medications can do so.

Bruises: Bruising in a 19 mos Old could be from falling &amp; running into things but you must take him to his pediatrician  for physical exam &amp; blood  work. Child abuse should be ruled out if he is cared for By someone else. Good luck.

Trauma: Bruises after an injury are expected.  Without trauma or an injury the appearance of bruising is unusual and could be related to the use of blood thinners. A visit to the doctor if uncertain is recommended.

Bruising may be due:: To number of meds you might be on, eg Aspirin & blood thinners(coumadin, plavix). The pain might be due to a arthritis or a pinched nerve in the back. Get yourself seen by your doc to have a diagnosis.

Bruise: At your age it's still most likely that you bumped or struck the area and just didn't realize it, causing the bruise.  Alternatively, it could be a bug bite or, even more rare, this could be a sign of an underlying bleeding disorder.  For now i would give it time and conservative treatment, but if symptoms persist or worsen then see a physician.

Varies: There are a number of possibilities.  If it seems superficial and tender it could be a trigger point, which is felt to be an inflammatory condition or it could be a sebaceous or inclusion cyst; if it seems deeper, it could be a disc problem in your back.  I would not hesitate to be seen if it does not improve.
