Varies: There are a number of possibilities. If it seems superficial and tender it could be a trigger point, which is felt to be an inflammatory condition or it could be a sebaceous or inclusion cyst; if it seems deeper, it could be a disc problem in your back. I would not hesitate to be seen if it does not improve.
