i had a bruise with a knot on my leg , the bruise is gone after 2 weeks , but the knot is still there , about how long does it take for the knot leave?

Post Bruise Knot: Bruises are actually blood clots. As the bruise heals the old blood calcifies and often can be felt for some time.  I have seen these take up to six months to fully resolve. The calcified clot is resorbed usually from the inside out so the 'knot' can be felt for  some time post injury.

Blood clot: You should be evaluated for blood clots in your veins. While the one you can see on the surface usually isn't a problem there can be deep clots that triggered that superficial clot.

Bruising: It is likely a simple contusion.  If you are experiencing any pain out of the ordinary, or any other symptoms such as light headedness, or fatigue, it is best that you have the area examined by a physician.

Normal: Yes that happens commonly.  If the shot was today you can use cool compresses and massage to help provide relief.  It can take several days sometimes weeks for the knot to completely go away, but it will.  Report anything excessive (pain that lasts for days, the knot is warmer than the rest of the surrounding skin etc) to your pediatrician right away.

ATV accidents: Are very scary from a trauma perspective.  Because details of your accident are not known (speed, did you fall to one side, get crushed, have other body parts injured, hit your head) it is difficult to say what may be happening. Strongly advise you to seek medical evaluation ASAP.  Exam of your skin / legs will give a more clear sense of what may be wrong.

Get the knot out.: The knot under the bruise can take as little as a week and over a year to completely resolve. There are occasions that the knot will always be there, only smaller. This depends on the size, location and type of injury that caused it. In the initial stages of the injury, ice can be applied to minimize bleeding. After 48 hours, heat application can speed the  dissolving of the lump.

Yes: When someone bruises it forms a clot. Some clots are bigger, depending on the vessel and sometimes the depth and sometimes can calcify and it can be felt as a knot or nodule. If the hematoma is roundish, it can also be felt as a knot.

Check closely for ch: The hard central part concerns me. You need to assess its size and then watch it for 1-2 more weeks to see if the hard part is getting bigger or smaller.
If it is growing in size you should go see your doctor. A biopsy may be required for further assess the cause(sometimes tumor can present with a bleeding around it , resulting in a bruise.
