i getting bruises in my knees shld i be worried i started having having a lil pain in my knees  n abt a wk ago bruises started appearing n the bruises getting bigger n the pain has increase n know even my heels hurt just to walk...i just had a c-sec does

If : If you just had a cesarean section, then i would advise a re-assessment by your OB doctor.  It may be that you have swelling or tore some small blood vessels from the operative period, but since you just had surgery the safest thing to do would be to consult with your ob-gyn doctor.

Not uncommon: For "bruising" to spread in few few days due to swelling and breaking of small blood vessels. However, if pain is spreading or worsening, consult with your doctor.

Skin lesion: Have pcp or dermatologist examine the lesion. Melanomas r characterized by irregular/indistinct borders, multiple colors, elevated, increasing size. So best to have it checked. If borders are regular, distinct, uniform color, may just be a mole. Since it's getting larger, best to have it checked.

i got a bruise after a blood draw and the bruise is getting bigger. there is no pain and no numbness or weakness. could it be serious? how does it go?

Not serious: By far the most likely explanation is some spreading of the hematoma under the skin. Its color will change from purple to green to yellow, and then it will disappear.

Unclear: It can be a number of things given your description from a simple contusion or bruise, prepatellar bursitis, cellulitis or something involving the knee joint.  You may have sustained unrealized trauma especially if you are active.  If you have pain, increased swelling, decreased range of motion and it affects your activity level you should be evaluated.

my boyfriend has something on his foot that looks like a bruise and its getting bigger and yellow thick toenails could this be from mold?

It sounds like: a fungal infection of the nails. See a Podiatrist for this.

i have a bruise on the inside of my thigh & i don't recall doing anything to cause it to bruise. it is now getting bigger and darker. is this normal?

Probably: You might have bumped into something without realizing it and yes bruises tend to get darker after a few days before start fading away leaving first a yellowish tinge before complete resolution. If you are taking aspirin or fish oil , you may bruise easier.  If this is a frequent occurrence, you need to consult your doctor to find out if you are a bleeder.

Probably not much: It just means there may be some addition subcutaneous bleeding. It will resolve with time.

i fell at work on a hard floor and landed on my shin just under my knee and it hurt really bad but its been two weeks and the bruise is getting darker/bigger and spreading down my shin, could i have fractured my shin instead of just bruised it?

: Use your finger to check the shin bone and note of any significant deformity. If the anterior border is smooth and there is no gross deformity, tibia (shin bone) fracture is less likely. The initial bruise is always extending down the by gravity but the color will change slowly to purple then yellowish green. If you have any doubt, go to urgent care for a quick X-ray check. Good luck.

i've noticed a pattern where i get big bruises on my thighs only when im on my menstrual cycle. is there a conncection?

Accepted Answer

Seems to be: If the bruising only occurs during your cycle, then there seems to be a connection.  This is worth having your ob/gyn see you when the bruising is present so that they can document what is going on.  It might be a problem called purpura and should lead to further evaluation.
