Tricky: dermatologic conditions are hard to discuss without seeing them. can be anything from a nodule from arthritis, to a wart or other (minor) viral infection to really just a callous.

i have sharp pain on knuckle of index finger when i bend the finger and it clicks a lot. no injury. what could it be?

Trigger finger : Most likely you have above condition . It is inflamed part of tendon forming a nodule passing under ligament like structure. It hurts when trying to bend finger. Than once nodule jumps " triggers through pain ease up. " See your MD for possible steroid injection . use Ice in the meantime , anti inflammatory, gentle massage.

A band of tissue can compress (usually from swelling due to overuse/injury) the nerves that run through the tunnel to the hand.Reduce aggravating activity; try a wrist splint at night for a week or two. Injury??: Sounds like a bruise.  If you had significant trauma to the finger then you should get an x-ray to see if it is broken.

Painful red joint: In the absence of recent trauma you should be evaluated for several things: acute infection that may need to be addressed with antibiotics (e.g. Following an insect bite), onset of an autoimmune disorder such as rheumatoid arthritis; possibility of gout. A thorough history and physical exam is  important; blood tests may need to be ordered along with x ray imaging.
