hi doctor, i've noticed discoloration on my left earlobe. it appears to be broken blood vessels. i do not have any pain nor discomfort. please help.

Ear lobe color: Greetings. I think it would be best for you to get your ear evaluated by your doctor. Sometimes blood vessels may present n various patterns. Have it looked at to be sure it's nothing major. If your doctor offers laser skin treatment, all the better.

i have a red ish purple circle rash on my right earlobe wondering if this could be bruising or maybe broken blood vessels . i dont remember hurting it ?

Ear lesion: It can be a fungal infection, herpetic rash, seborrheic keratitis, actinic keratitis, basal cell carcinoma, wart etc to mention few possibilities. It is important to see it and get more history about it.

are their any blood vessels near the tragus part of the ear? i feel a swollen lump in that area could it be an anurysm?

Accepted Answer

Not likely: You are probably feeling a swollen lymph node.  If you are sick it is related.  If you are not and it hasn't gone down you should be checked out.  While of course there are blood vessels there. It is quite unlikely that you have an aneurysm.  You doctor's examination will help figure it out.

will taking niacin and experiencing a niacin flush increase blood flow/circulation to the tiny blood vessels in my middle/inner ear?

Flushing : Not clear what the mechanism of flushing is may not be a vascular basis.

can tmj and constant jaw clenching cause your ear to twitch/flutter? every time i have bad tmj days, my inner right ear flutters intermittently. is this serious? im worried about my blood vessels :?

: Suggest you discuss these issues with your dentist and consider oral surgical consult regarding TMJ problems.  Various dental splint approaches may handle much of this.

i have pulsatile tinnitus in right ear.  i have been told there is no disease in carotid  artery but the blood vessels are tortuous. can i be cured ?

Know the cause first: Before you can be treated (or attempted to be "cured"), you need to figure out the cause of the tinnitus. Many possibilities include hypertension, medications, infection, Meniere's, etc. See your physician for a complete evaluation. will a hot pack or a cold pack be better for getting rid of dialited blood vessels? eyes were white until june sinus/ear infection. what else helps?

Depends if it's eye: or ear you are talking about or sinuses. Best if you can have your PCP do a physical exam of your face, ears, nose, eyes, and throat and see what's going on! Never good to shot gun these things as it could be nothing, or it could be more serious and missed. Need to treat the cause of your dilated blood vessels. That will solve two birds with one stone!

superficial artery/vein on both sides of my head (gp states they're veins) runs from front of ear to forehead. strong pulse. inflammation blood test normal. temporal arteritis ruled out. i also get dull headaches. is a blood test conclusive?

: You are probably a light skinned person, making it easy to see vessels under the skin. The head is highly vascularized and that may explain why you see the blood vessels easily rather than having Temporal Arteritis which is actually best diagnosed by a biopsy. Headache may be due to tension and anxiety. You may seek a reevaluation however the doctor may have perceived your anxiety not pathology.

Contacts: Dilated vessels in the eyes can occur from any reason that causes eye irritation (such as contacts, dry eye, blepharitis, etc).

Accepted Answer

Yes and no.: If your blood vessels are constricted you may feel cold.  There are no diseases of the blood vessels not dilating properly.  Blood vessels dilate or contract in response to chemicals in the blood stream, systemic conditions and local environmental factors.
