Broke toe: Simple x-rays, and clinical findings of pain, swelling should be sufficient enough.  Swelling and redness do not always mean "broken" bone, but could also just be a bone contusion or joint pain.    I hope this helps, if so please vote me up, or follow me.  Thanks and good luck!

i lacerated/broke my pinky toe 2+yrs ago. the pain hasn't stopped. lately it's been getting worse. normal? for how long? anything i/anyone can do?

NOT NORMAL: You need a new x-ray. If inconclusive, an MRI. An unusual complication, but did the laceration lead to a bone infection, which is now chronic.

hi,,i broke my pinky toe and did have xrays,they say its just the toe and taped it,but my ankle is hurting alot is this normal with a broke toe?

Yes and no.: Could it be that the traumatic event may have also traumatized your ankle. That could be determined through a evaluation of the method of injury. It may be necessary to have you ankle checked if the problem persists.

i broke my pinky toe a few yrs ago. it still hurts when i'm on my feet too long or if i wear sandals and sometimes itch a lot. did it not heal right?

It can be an issue: and it's a pretty common area for those symptoms due to other issues such as arthritis, irritation of ligments/tendons and other minor strains.
X-rays would show fractures but would not show the tendons and ligaments.

i broke my pinky toe and the doctor splinted it to the two toes next to it. it seemed to hurt more. when i removed the tape it was dark at the base. ?

Bruising: Bruising is normal with fractures.  Sounds like your doctor was trying to immobilize your pinkie toe by splinting.  Sometimes the homeopathic remedy arnica 30c (available in health food stores) will help reduce the bruising and swelling.

broke my pinky toe 3 weeks ago, entire foot gets ice cold at random times ever since, sometimes with pain/tingling up to my knee. is this serious?

Get it checked again: I suppose you were sen by the doctor who ordered the xrays and provided treatment for it 
It is usually treated by immobilization by taping it to next toe and ice locally and padded shoe and pain medication
I suggest you follow up with the treating doctor or see an orthopedic Specialist or a Podiatrist

i broke my pinky toe on june 21. i'm now having burning every time it touches fabric. ie: socks,  my sheet while sleeping, is this normal as it heals?

Burning toe fx: Is the toe swollen? With fracture /swelling, there may be nerve effects causing the burning. Have you tried motrin like products(if not allergic)? Do they help any as they should decrease some inflammation.  Is the toe warm? How about when you press on it does it turn white and then when you let go pink?That means the blood supply is intact  Though may be nerve effects from swelling f/u/w/ doc

i broke my pinky toe 5 months ago. never went to doc as i've been told they cant do much for a broken toe. it's still swollen, slightly bruised and very painful. now experiencing pain in heel of foot as well. what should i do?

Get it checked now: How do you know you broke your bone in the bone of your small toe.It seems you ignored an injury to your 5th toe which might have been fractured and we don't know if it was simple fracture which might have needed xrays and appropriate treatment.At this stage I suggest you consult your doctor or a podiatrist and get it checked and treated appropriately

week ago i broke the pinky toe on the same foot that i had a screw put in for jones fracture 6 yrs ago. had x-ray 4 days later worried about screw they said it was fine. now top of foot red and some swelling but it's more painful to walk every day?

: A Jones fracture is an injury at the base of the fifth metatarsal, located closer to the ankle than the toe.  Stubbing your little toe may result in a break of the little bones (phalanx fracture) of your toe but would not impart enough energy to hurt the screw or the proximal part of your metatarsal bone. The bruising of your foot is likely swelling from the toe injury. Use a hard sole shoe.

i broke my left pinky toe 16 days ago. it was snapped ~ 45 degrees out & had to be reduced. buddy taped. foot by toe swells. is this okay? crutches?

Broken toe: The standard approach to manage a broken toe is buddy taping.    The swelling of surrounding toe is exoected.  Try staying off your foot and keep it elevated.
