Blast from the past : Bright's Disease = an historical term we last used for inflammation of kidney cells ~ 40 years ago for post- streptococcal glomerulonephritis which, like rheumatic fever, was  common because of the strains of "strep" in B'ham, AL, at the time. Acute &amp; chronic immune  &amp; non- immune causes of nephritis are listed on www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1786202/. Treatment &amp; outcome depends on cause.

: I do not what you mean by bright.  I suspect you mean whiter. The only thing that I have seen that leads to whiter skin is choosing different grandparents. ;-).  Just remember not white is beautiful as well. Avoid things you put on the skin to brighten it up. Many contain mercury and can poison you.

If by brighter you mean redder then you can go out in sun but that increases risk of skin cancer.

Definitely Not: This is commonly related to migraine headaches with or without pain.  It can also be related to problems in the eye and rarely could represent seizures or ischemia in the brain.  Take a baby Aspirin daily if not contraindicated and see your physician asap.  You will probably need to see an eye doctor and possibly a neurologist as well.

Aura: The bright lights or "scintillating scotomata" are due to dysfunction over the occipital lobe of the brain, and a response to the emerging neurochemical changes which proceed from back of brain forwards, eventuating in the full blown headache.

Depends but too long means?: If you feel that bright lights stay in your vision so long that it's disturbing, distorting, or disabling you from seeing clearly, for example when you're driving and the oncoming headlights are blinding you afterwards, or flashbulbs brightness last too long, then you need to see your eye doctor. A/he may do a simple test to measure the electrophysiology of your eyes. This will help to determine if it's abnormal or not.

Depends on several: things:  the type of bug, a person's allergy response, and whether it gets infected.  Some will resolve in a few hours, while some individuals have delayed hypersensitivity reaction and may get marked swelling and redness after 1-2 days.  Scratching and infection will prolong healing.  Cold compresses and antihistamines orally work best if itchy.
