Complicated: If your menstrual cycles are coming regularly then your female hormones (estrogen and progesterone) are normal. You could check your thyroid hormone. Often new moms are exhausted and sleep deprived. Post partum depression often goes unrecognized as the symptoms do not have to include crying and sadness. Discuss these items at your follow up appointment.

Yes: The exact mechanism is not onown, but premenstrual syndrome is well known.  It usually does well on fluoxetine.

It should: Hi. Yes, if the cabergoline (Dostinex) effectively controls your hyperprolactinemia, normal periods should resume and breast milk should stop. The vast majority of prolactinoma tumors can be controlled (and sometimes cured) by cabergoline. The resumption of normal periods may take a number of months from when you start taking the drug. Get evaluated : Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections &  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Possibly: You are experiencing something called secondary amenorrhea, which is lack of a period in someone who previously had one. It is not normal and needs to be evaluated.  It is very likely hormonal, but body size can also play a role.

Does NOT: Top 5 AE of Cymbalta (duloxetine) Nausea, Dry mouth, Headache, Somnolence, Fatigue. Not seen as much are Constipation, Dizziness, Anorexia (weight loss)Insomnia, Diarrhea. Cymb may sometimes makes people feel well enough that they may have an increase  in suicidal thoughts!!!This is an awesome med not only for depression but also NEUROPATHIC pain. May take 10 d + to overcome AE  (MAX  60mg 2xd)

Most causes, including infections are easy to rx, but making the diagnosis is critical.
