Two tests better tha: Dense breasts are not adequately examined with Mammography alone, so it is common to add an Ultrasound exam to it so that the 2 tests can better visualize your breast and not miss any small tumor or mass. No reason to worry...it is a commonly done procedure and done for a good reason. This will give you more peace of mind, than an incomplete examination( if you did one test only)

Need exam to answer: A normal mammogram and ultrasound is reassuring that there's not a concerning breast finding. If you feel a lump or mass, you should continue to get follow up with your doctor who may want to have it biopsied in the future

: It is too early to tell. You just watch the symptoms for now. If the symptoms persists and get worse for another 48 hours, you can see a doctor by then. Mastitis is top of the problem list if symptoms persist. You should not concern about inflammatory breast cancer which does not behave that way.

Mammograms: Breast "architecture" is very varied. Some breasts are very dense with breast fibrinous stroma, others are more "fatty" however, there is a wide range of normal, and what you describe is a normal breast architecture. Usually, there is fatty replacement as you age. You have nothing to worry about.

Sorry to hear you are feeling so anxious. When we see "indeterminate mass" in a radiology report, generally that means whatever the radiologist saw was too small or it looks blurred against the surrounding tissue. Normal breast tissue can also mimic the appearance of a mass in women your age and repeat studies are often needed to get a better image for the radiologist to review. Hope this helps

No: Dense breast have nothing to do with size.  It represents a mammographic finding where most   tissue seen on the film is breast tissue with little fat present. With age more fat  replaces  the existing breast tissue so that mammograms can be more easily interpreted.  This is one of  the reasons mammos should not be performed before age 35.  The other is that younger breast tissue sensitive to RT.

US would help: Dense lump fibrocystic breast are common and do not indicate disease. Would consider US of any palpable nodules and first mammogram at 40.

Controversial: The use of Hormone therapy is a highly individual decision especially for someone who is BRCA positive. Consider seeing a genetic counselor to calculate your individual lifetime and 5 year risk. Then counseling could be done regarding hormone therapy products.
