Lymphedema: The removal of lymph nodes is the main cause of lymphedema.  The nodes drain fluid from the arm.  This is a treatable problem but not curable.  I highly recommend going to a lymphedema clinic in order to get evaluated and treated. Treatment includes manual massage, exercises, arm sleeve and other types of manipulation.

Axillary adenopathy: It would be very unlikely that breast CA would cause symmetrical and bilateral lymphnode swelling.  Sounds much more likely to be an infectious/viral process.

Axillary nodes: If there is breast pain along with the axillary lymph node, you MUST get evaluated by a breast surgeon for biopsy to exclude cancer. It is very important that you seek a consultation immediately.

Brest cancer ?'s: Ultrasound exams can certainly miss early breast cancer, and sometimes fibrocystic breast changes present difficulties in detection of smaller breast cancer lesions, with metastatic spread may thus occurring w/o mammogram detection. With dense fibrocystic breasts, and perhaps a family history of breast cancer, bilateral MRI studies are best for early cancer detection.

i have scattered fibroglandular densities and 3-4 lumps axillary. should i be worried. breast cancer history on mom's side.

No: If the physicians treating you were suspicious, they could perform a biopsy of the suspicious areas in the breast. Lymph nodes are swollen for a lot of reasons, and rarely do you palpate or find a very large lymph node even when there is metastatic cancer.

A picture's worth...: 1-nipple inversion assc w/cancer is usually permanent, such that the nipple cannot be everted w/o difficulty. If it is everted some days, inverted others, it is usually not concerning. 2-a compressible mass in the axilla is usually a lipoma or ectopic axillary breast tissue. However... An exam is necessary to be certain. Best to see a doctor.

i had breast cancer in 2015. it had not spread beyond the breast as shown by the sentinel node biopsy. i had a routine low dose ct scan, to check for lung cancer. lungs are clear. some mildly prominent mediastinal and axillary nodes. should i worry?

: Although a "negative sentinel node" biopsy does not always mean breast cancer is not outside the breast, the "mildly prominant" mediastinal/axillary nodes may be incidental and reflect processes secondary to lung disorders over time (reactive nodes).  See your oncology physician for more detail and follow up guidance.

Good question: from a guy , genetic implications are more to female Male breast cancers are rare 1% of them are in men ( male breast cancer ) At 27 don't worry about any cancer  , eat health balanced diet with regular exercises avoid any chemicals ( substance abuse ) and be happy .
