could this be an issue caused by the choking incident last week?

: Unlikely to be related.  Might try a two week course of Nexium over the counter to see if it helps and if not please see a gastroenterologist for further evaluation and treatment

Fitness: Youth and fitness don't come out of pill bottles. Since my med student days in the 1970's, scientists have sought elixers of longevity and delayed aging in antioxidants, vitamins, and what-have-you. The one robust scientific finding is that a sensible, spare diet and plenthy of aerobic exercise is your best choice. None of my science / medicine colleagues say they take anti-aging pills.

Yes, but.....: Generic drugs are the same as the brand names, at least in the USA where their manufacture is carefully regulated.  However, not every person will respond exactly the same to a brand vs a generic often due to differences in the manufacturing process, fillers, dyes and other factors, including some that might be how one perceives the two medications.

Yes: There is no difference in how effective they are. Always go for the cheaper, generic drug when you have a choice in over the counter medicines.

No preference: Most asians have darker color irises and a colored lense might make little difference in the appearance unless you want to change them totally to an opaque color which will give you blue or other colored irises.  You simply need a good diagnosis and fit by an ophthalmologist who can recommend the best for you.
