Easy via osteotomy : Bowed legs or varus knees can be routinely corrected via what is called a high tibial osteotomy (hto). Though not done solely for cosmetic reasons, but for unweighting an arthritic/injured medial (inside) compartment of the knee joint, the overall result is a straighter less painful knee.

Bow legs: Surgery is now very uncommon for these conditions as are braces and other devices used years ago.  Leg bowing can come from the tibia (tibial torsion) or from the femur (femoral anteversion).  Most of the time these correct themselves with time.   Sitting in a "W" position will make it last longer.   If tripping and falling are frequent events see an orthopedic surgeon for an evaluation.

Cartilage wear: Bow leggedness or the varus knee can develop in adulthood if the cartilage on the inside of the knee wears down faster than the outside of the knee.  In patients that then require total knee replacement this varus deformity is corrected so the leg is straight again.
