Probably: Nerves carry sensation from the cells receiving a stimulus.  If the feeling is lost it is likely that the nerve carrying that sensation has been damaged.  Sensation may return with time, but nerves take a long time to heal.

Many possibilities: Some causes could be inflamation, infection, fracture, or venous congestion.  Have it propperly diagnosed by your physician.

Nerve damage: Depending how long it has been numb you may have nerve damage. Do you have diabetes or circulation problems? Did you bang your foot? Are your shoes too tight? Look up tarsal tunnel syndrome
Also b12,b6 and folic acid are good vitamins for the nerves

Why wait longer ??: It is time to stop worrying and get to your doctor. You didn't mention a temperature change in the foot and that is good. The whiteness and numbness can be caused by several things. Rather than waste time trying different treatment plans based on a non-examination, it is better that you seek help from your doctor or a specialist. Sooner than later is my recommendation.

Numbness in Foot: It could be a number of factors that go along with the big picture of total ankle replacement.
It may be numbness that has been present for a long time that has gone un-noticed b/c of the pain in your ankle joint. It may also be due to post-operative swelling at the surgical site.

I would discuss the numbness with your surgeon, continue with physical therapy and give the numbness time to resolve.
