hi, i'm 36 and i have a 3cmx2cm bony lump on my forehead, i am worried it could be a sarcoma as an x ray showed there are abnormalities and was unclear and i'm being sent to a bone cancer specialist. is there a good chance it will be benign?

Forehead lump: If this bony growth has not been present for many years in an unchanged state it is important to definitively determine its nature and have it evaluated by the proper specialist. It may require a biopsy to obtain an accurate tissue diagnosis and if it's a malignant growth early diagnosis and treatment is a plus.

Multiple things: It could be a lipoma, sebaceous cyst, or even a bony abnormality. It is hard to tell without an exam. I would recommend that you see your physician to get the proper evaluation and treatment.

See Dermatologist: A hard bump in the head could in fact be one a several things such as: lipoma, benign cysts, foreign body granuloma, Various bony/soft tissue tumors, or even infectious processes. The best way to rule out a malignancy/cancer is to see a dermatologist. He/she will do an exam and determine whether or not a biopsy is recommended. Since you are very anxious, it is best to schedule an appointment.

: With bony lump, you mean a hard lump? Depending on the size, is it hidden in your hair or it looks obvious.?  Is it growing in size? Does it pulsate with your heart rate. If answer to any is yes, then please see the doctor for excisional biopsy. Probability of this lump being lipoma, cyst, or other benign lesion is high, so good luck. Hope it helps.

Head Pain: If the lesion is growing or causing continued discomfort for more than a month, a ct scan or MRI is indicated. Unfortunately this will usually require sedation to keep a four year old still. Discuss the procedure with the treating physician.

See eye doctor ASAP: If you have pain with eye movement, headaches, I think you need to contact an eye doctor ASAP. The lump at the forehead may or may not be related and you should talk to your own doctor about this.
