Depends on origin: If the cancer is the only site and came from the bone, then surgery is the main treatment.  Most commonly its from spread from other cancers to the bone. In this case if their is fracture surgery may be needed, otherwise radiation is used to control pain and symptoms and prevent further destruction of the bone.

It depends: Bone cancer can be one of several different diseases. Accordingly you first need to get the correct diagnosis made which will require a specialist(orthopedic or oncologist) to do x-rays and a biopsy. Once the correct diagnosis is made you can be treated but this involves both specialists mentioned here. Most times it involves surgery to remove the cancer, often it is combined with chemotherapy.

Kills tumor: Radiation is more deadly to cancer cells than non-cancer cells because they are dividing more readily and probably even more so because their genome is destabilized and they tend to lose the ability to repair radiation damage. Normal bone replaces the dead tissue; if the cancer does not recur there the site should remain pain-free. Depends on the type of cancer. Good luck.

No: Bone scan is a crude way of measuring active disease in bone.  There are more sensitive tests available now.  It does not pick up dead cells. But not showing active disease in an area where it was showing disease, "lack of uptake" is a good sign.

It varies: Most cases of kidney failure caused by one of the blood cancers are reversible if detected early and treated promptly. But your biopsy indicates this may have been ongoing for quite some time. I would have you be patient and be hopeful at least for 4-6 weeks before you will know if this is going to improve or not.

Dumb back luck: You won't find an environmental cause for any bone cancer apart from the rare ones that arise in pre-existing severe Paget's of bone, rare genetic syndromes or an old radiation port. Recently the news showcased what we pathologists have taught for decades -- the vast majority of cancers are the result of random mutations -- truly random. There's no way to prevent.

See a Dr. and...: I don't know why you think this; there is an excellent chance you do NOT have bone cancer, but please see a Dr. ASAP to find out for sure; the stress of thinking this if you don't is awful; if you do have it, it's wise to know for sure and start treatment ASAP. Cancer is scary but many cancers can be treated successfully, esp. with a combination and conventional and alternative therapies.

Unlike breast, prostate, colon, skin and cervical cancer, there's no worthwhile screens for primary bone cancer. If you have an obsessive fear of bone cancer, your physical can suggest reprogramming techniques.

Danger?: Primary bone tumors are very painful and tough to treat and cure. Some other cancers that start elsewhere will metastasize to bone. Breast and prostate are the most common.
