i would normally get a boil on my hips or buttocks now & again, but for the last few months i have been getting boils non stop on my hips & shockingly, even on my vagina as well now. they are truly painful & i honestly do not know why? please advise.

Resistant bacteria?: The antibiotic-resistant bacteria called MRSA is usually checked for when a person has a boil. The doctor can swab the pus and send it to the lab. Certain antibiotics are used for MRSA boils, and other things have to be done to try to get that bacteria out of the household. Boils can still be due to regular, nonresistant bacteria... so hope it is nonresistant.

Apply warm compress: In general, we apply heat to infections and cold to injuries. Heat draws infection fighters to the area while cold keeps blood flow away. Don't drain the boil on your own but you can help your body fight it off by signaling w/warm compresses where to focus immune systemt's defense. If it drains on its own, that's fine. But don't puncture it yourself as this may spread infection. Go see your doc.

Acute strain/sprain: This is an acute sprain/strain. Rest, apply moist heat and avoid heavy lifting. It will generally resolve over 1-3 weeks.

See your doctor: If it's at the top of the buttocks (the transition between your low back and the crease of your buttocks) it's probably a pilonidal cyst or abscess. It will most likely need to be drained by a healthcare professional. Sometimes they drain spontaneously. There is a good chance of recurrence, and sometimes the cyst wall will need to be surgically removed.

See a dermatologist: It is not "normal" to get boils all over. What do you do about it??? You need an exam. Pilonidal sinus? Hidradenitis suppuritiva? Staph furunculosis? Folliculitis? Other condition? You need an exam and evaluation by a skin specialist.
