: Depends. These often arise when germs enter the hair glands at their base and fester or germs planted from scratching. Those near the anus may arise from a fistula inside the large intestine.  Aggressive boils suggest you have a resident colony of staph in your nose.

No: Up to 75% of cases of boils involve infection with staph aureus, either methicillin-susceptible (mssa) or methicillin-resistant (mrsa). Other less commonly involved organisms include gram-negative and anaerobic bacteria, candida species, and pseudomonas species.

: If it's a shared toilet in your household, it may not matter much. The bacteria causing your skin infection likely are all over the place, in dust etc; and the same ones often are on people's skin anyway, without symptoms. The risk to the next public toilet user probably also is low. It makes sense to wipe with disinfectant after use, but probably makes little real difference in risk to others.

in the last 3 months i got 4 boils in different places. 2 on buttocks, 1 outer thigh, 1 under arm. should i be worried? stress levels were highest in a year in these months, could that be the reason? how do i stop recurrence?

Immunity/hygiene: You may be right that stress is contributing to changes in habits and also lowers immunity. Are you overweight? that too may contribute to lowered immunity including that of the skin. The way to reduce chances of recurrence is to probably in addition to good personal hygiene to use antiseptic soap that may cut down bacterial load on the skin. Improved nutrition and rest also boost immunity.
