The ER: Can't help with a thyroid nodule. A lower leg (calf?) boil is unlikely to cause thigh discomfort in the absence of extensive soft tissue infection which would cause skin redness, pain, and fever. Overall, unless you feel acutely ill, visiting your family clinician is likely the best route.

Calories burned must &gt; calories consumed. You can tone your inner thighs with extended leg lifts, inner thigh press, standing thigh press, deep squat, wall squat, lunge, thigh ball squeeze, walking, swimming, biking ; in-line skating. Jumping rope burns calories.

Chafing: You are likely causing local irritation due to rapid leg movement w/o adequate protection. Something like spandex leg-shorts (/"bike shorts") should help prevent this from occurring.

Meralgia Paresthetic: I actually didn't have room in the SUMMARY above to add the last letter of "a" to the name of what I wanted to write.  So, Meralgia Paresthetica is a condition where the femoral nerve is trapped at the level of where it enters the thigh. Numbness and burning sensations can arise. Often it is on both sides but can be only on one. See your doctor and if appropriate a neurologist.

See below: If the pain is on the outside of the thigh, ou may be experiencing a condition called meralgia peristhetica which is a pinched nerve near the hip.  Stretching helps and should be the first thing attempted.

Burning thigh: If there is no redness, swelling, tenderness, other discoloration or recent trauma, you may have a pinched nerve at the groin as the cause of those symptoms. This is more common in people who sit for prolonged periods or who are obese. A physician or a neurologist can evaluate and advise you.
