Perhaps: It is always hard to second guess a provider when you did not evaluate the patient.  Your physician was treated a staph infection as the most probable cause.  Without clinical findings and a bacterial culture it is difficult to answer.

It may..: Cellcept is in general Immunosuppressant. For reason to prevent rejection of transplants etc.. Any decreases of immunity can make you prone to infections. Skin infections as boils is one of them. Make sure pus was cultured for appropriate treatment  choice of Antibiotics if needed.Drainage of pus and meticulous hygiene to prevent spread is important. Please, follow up w your doc. for exam and test

Use warm compresses: Not sure about the toothpaste, although to be honest i would avoid it to prevent irritant contact dermatitis in that sensitive area. Warm compresses will help express the contents. Avoid  squeezing the area as well and jf you see streaks or surrounding areas of redness you should see a doctor because you might need antibiotics.
