What you are experiencing sounds normal. It is called a hypnagogic state and is basically the transition period where your body is drifting off into sleep. Because we dream when we sleep, in order to protect ourselves, our brain slightly paralyzes the body so that we don't hurt ourselves (or others) by acting out our dreams. Could be allergy or.: Could be an allergic reaction, e.g. to bed covers, if you have changed detergents, or a sleep onset disorder. See your pcp and discuss.

Possibilities: Some sleep disorders result in movements while asleep such as paroxysmal leg movements in sleep (noctournal myoclonus).  Welbutrin can cause seizures as an adverse event in some.  You may benefit from a sleep study overnight.

How about video?: Sudden jerks while falling asleep is considered a normal phenomenon but you seem to be describing something a bit different than that which only requires a bit of movement then, off to sleep from there?  How about if you could just set up a camera phone on your nightstand and see if you can't capture an episode of these shakes/tremors. Those would be interesting to see as well as your response.

UTI/Other infections: Sometimes it could be what some people call 'Chills' and is often associated with some form of Urinary tract Infection (UTI).Other infections can also do it. may need to see PCP and have Basic Labs including Urine Tests.
