Hypnagogic state: Hi What you are experiencing sounds normal. It is called a hypnagogic state and is basically the transition period where your body is drifting off into sleep. Because we dream when we sleep, in order to protect ourselves, our brain slightly paralyzes the body so that we don't hurt ourselves (or others) by acting out our dreams.
