Hard to say: I assume you are commenting on a strep antibody test, since you would be very sick with strep in your blood. Adults can have ASO and similar tests at higher than expected levels form rather insignificant illnesses. A single skin infection, minor sore throat, or other issue can push up a titer. In the absence of symptoms it is viewed as a curiosity, not a sign of active disease.

You : You are right, it could represent an allergic reaction or it could be from herpes.  A type of a severe allergic reaction called stephen johnson syndrome can cause lesions (sores) on your mouth.  Please be seen immediately and be evaluated for this.

If you are having itching, any shortness of breath, nausea or vomiting, or rash then you need to be seen as an emergency.

Not certain at all: If your infection was treated appropriately then and your renal function is now normal, your risk should not be very high.

No risk, no worry: Skin bacteria almost never get into the bloodstream from having blood drawn. Also S. pneumoniae is not likely to be present on the skin in sigificant numbers. Nothing to worry about.

Yes: Her hemoglobin or hematocrit, which is what wic tests for, will not be changed by an acute illness. Now, if she is not feeling very good and you don't want to drag her out, that's another kettle of fish, but the lab results won't be any different today or next week.

See below: The negative cultures mean you did not have an bacterial infection in your sinus or throat. The "high levels of strep in the blood" does not refer to actual streptococci bacteria in the blood. It refers to the level of a specific antibody that the immune system makes to defend itself from a bacterial infection. A high ASO level means you may have had an infection with strep in the past 6-12 months

Viral: If you have been seen by a pediatrician to know that the leukocytes are elevated, that doctor should have explained that the chances are this is a viral infection that will pass on its own. But call the doctor back and ask for more information and a diagnosis.

See your doctor: Acute lyme disease can present with those symptoms and the rash like you described.  You should see your physician for appropriate testing and medication.

Yes: Since almost all cases of Down syndrome (maybe 95-98% of cases) are not inherited from carrier parents, the testing of the parents' chromosomes is probably not done unless a Down syndrome baby has been born, and the chromosomes of the baby suggest that one of the parents may be a carrier.
