Pretty good, but...: They are essentially equivalent in thinning the blood to replace coumadin (warfarin), (warfarin) but they require twice daily dosing. Yes, you don't have to get your blood tested like you do with coumadin (warfarin), (warfarin) but if you have a bad bleed, there is no antidote for either you mentioned, like there is for coumadin (warfarin). So one must weigh the risks vs. The benefits, as we do everyday in medicine.

i have atrial fibrillation . i take daily concor 10mg, dabigatran 220mg, lasix 40mg and aldactone (spironolactone) 25mg, . now i have erectile problem. what shall i do?

Talk to your doctor: Aldactone (spironolactone) and concor both could cause ed. Please review this with your doctor to find a better alternative. Do not stop medications by yourself.

Check with GP: Warfarin does not need to be stopped for minor procedures like tooth extractions if the INR level is on the lower end of the therapeutic range. i take a 150mg capsule twice a day.  i started this prescription on 11/17/2012 and prior to that i took 7.5mg coumadin

Consult your doc: This question should have been addressed by your surgeon in consultation with the doctor who put you on it. The proper answer also needs to take into account why you are on the pradaxa. You may need to take Heparin injections between the time you stop the Pradaxa and the surgery.
