Vit K: The pathway of clotting where vit k works is different from the platelet pathway where Plavix (clopidogrel) and Aspirin work. While not disconnected, usually arterial clotting is more affected by the platelet pathway where Plavix (clopidogrel) and Aspirin work.

had brachial artery blood clot complication after brachial accessed catheter angiogram. no heart disease.clot was removed surgically.  why do i have to be on plavix, eliquis, and aspirin now? why am i at a higher risk for another blood clot?

Injury to artery?: I assume the anti-coagulation is to be temporary and that some other clotting propensity has not been discovered.  It is probable that the initial catheterization and the surgery to remove the clot has produced minor injury to the artery wall, and you will require anticoagulation until that minor damage has healed.  If you have further questions, you should ask the doctor prescribing the thinner!

can you get a dvt as a complication week after left brachial artery thrombectomy? im on 2 blood thinners & aspirin and 1/2 my left calf is bruised purple but entire front of calf if red/pink. entire leg throbs. or is that rare & likely just bruising

Vascular damage: and clotting disorders, can increase the risk of developing post procedure blood clots.  Thrombophilias, (clotting disorders), inborn tendency for blood clotting, are more common than once was recognized. Testing for genetic variations, and history of previous clots can be helpful to know, but not all clots are preventable.

Not really: Best medicine remains Coumadin (warfarin) or Heparin or lowmolecule weight heparins like Lovenox etc.

i'm on eliquis, plavix, and baby aspirin daily. have bruises all over my legs (some quite large) but no where else. not sure where they came from. how concerned should i be about bleeding on all three meds?

Bleeding risk: Individually these meds increase risk for bleeding, this risk increases when used in combination. That said, they are usually prescribed in combination for good reason when BENEFIT outweighs the risk of bleeding.  It is to discuss this concern with the prescriber of these medications, and make sure  you understand the reason for being on all meds. Would not change anything until talking to them.

Unlikely: Without a clotting disorder, and on thinners it would be unlikely to develop a new clot. You should discuss this with your treating doctor for further treatment options. Consider controlled graduated compression socks, over the knee

General fatigue and: weakness are known side effects of clopidogrel (Plavix).  Other potential causes could be the procedure itself sapping your strength, a post-procedure complication like a blood clot (unlikely though could happen in spite of blood thinners), and kidney failure following numerous CT studies with contrast.  I recommend to get a general checkup from your primary healthcare provider right away.

when switching from plavix to aspirin for a stent in celiac artery, is it 325mg or 81 mg? my surgeon  is impossible to get a hold of

Check it out: I would use 325 until you can clear with surgeon on a lower dose. or just remind on Plavix until you can contact.

Older article, but this showed a 50 % stent occlusion within months after procedure. At 6 months the occlusion rate was 10 %.
